Have just finished Donna Leon's A question of belief. As usual good entertainment of the crime fiction sort with mouth watering food and going home for lunches in the boiling heat of August in Venice. No happy endings though. Have been to venice last year and saw the police poat pass by. Did not find the Brunettie or Vianello. Too amy bl.... tourists around.

My favourite book for this year so far is The Children's Book by A S Byatt. Set in one of my favourite periods of history, early 1900's, it covers the Arts and Crafts movement in Britain and touches on the struggles of the women fighting for the right to vote.

My favourite book of the moment is The 10 pm Question by Kate de Goldi - Carolyn. This is a wonderfully funny and poignant and account of the trials and tribulations of Frankie Parsons. Kate deserves all the accolades she is receiving for this novel. The characters are very well drawn and the family dynamics all too recognisable.
